The following is an excerpt from the liner notes of the album:

Jeff Miles (Guitar) and Ken Kobayashi (Drums) have long been playing in the New York jazz scene, performing together in a wide range of settings, from straight-ahead jazz to free improvisation. This album captures their latest evolution as they join forces with rising bassist Michael Gilbert in a groundbreaking trio performance. Miles’ modal and imaginative guitar work intertwines with Gilbert’s driving bass lines, while Kobayashi’s undulating drumming anchors the ensemble with primal energy. Together, they craft a unique and unparalleled sonic landscape.
